Dedication to the Goddess and God in your Garden

The lives of the Goddess and God are all around us and our Earth Mother Gaia is in all of nature and no better place to dedicate to the Goddess and the God is your own garden. This plot then becomes sacred to them and to you because every time you work in your garden you are dedicating yourself to the Goddess and God, and honouring our Earth Mother Gaia, from which all life comes and to which all life returns. The Sun God radiates his energy onto all life on our earth, and this union of the Goddess and God allows life to flourish and give abundantly. 

As you work with the land you connect with your roots and are drawn closer to Gaia, and your garden becomes sacred to you and to Gaia. There are lots of plants and herbs that can be grown in dedication to the Goddess and the God, for example thyme is a herb of the Goddess in her Crone phase, parsley is a herb of the Goddess in her Maiden phase, and rosemary is a herb of the element fire and the sun and so can be dedicated to the God.

 

Elemental Sacred Garden

 

The spirit of our Earth, Gaia, is of the elements Air, Fire, Water and Earth, because it it these elements that nurture all life and they all work with each other to allow life to grow and evolve. Therefore, in your garden, a special sacred space should be dedicated to the Elements. There are many ways in which you could adorn this sacred elemental garden, for example, a water feature could represent Water and a rockery could represent Earth. At the very least, find the directional points that correspond to the elements, east for Air, south for Fire, west for Water and north for Earth, and place a feather, a wooden log, a shell and a stone inside your sacred space. It is the intention that is important and sometimes simple is suffice.

 

Herb Garden 

A practical and productive way to use your garden space, while dedicating to the Goddess and the God, and the elements of our Earth Gaia, is to grow herbs in your garden. Herbs are an ancient gift from Gaia, some growing since the evolution of man and having medicinal qualities that ensured the survival of man with their healing qualities.
