Introduction
Welcome to the New
&
Revamped Moon Pages.
Every so often (no set times or dates) we will add information on other celestial body's and their importance, if any, to the Ancient Celtic People and their Counterparts in Modern Wicca. We will also try to give as much Majikal information as we can and that our Beliefs and our own Morality allows.
As in all things there has to be a beginning, a starting point, So let us start with our nearest cosmic neighbour The Moon. |

Facts:
The moon is about 2160 miles in diameter, its average distance from Earth is 238,900 miles. Its Gravity is roughly ¼ that of Earths, so someone weighing 16 stone on Earth would only weigh 4 stone on the Moon.
Good for diets but really bad for Life, the is no atmosphere on the moon. The age of the moon is approximately 4½ Billion years old. |

Moon Formation.
There have been many theories about how the moon was formed. The most commonly accepted theory (until another one comes around) is the Arcadia theory which goes something like this: The Earth was just newly formed and sitting in our newly formed Solar System, just minding its own business, When suddenly out of the void came a Mars Sized Planet called Arcadia ( a roving planet Not Captured by the gravity of any Sun). Arcadia was on a collision course with Earth. There was nothing the Earth could do except wait & as the collision took place, both planets became molten and at the same started solidifying into the new Earth we know today. A large chunk of the planet was blown off as the two planets collided, this was captured by the gravity of the new Earth and became our Moon. | |
